Owner Surrendered Dogs
Rescuers understand that circumstances in a home may
often change resulting in a dog requiring adoption by a new family.
NS4AR GA prefers to focus our efforts on dogs facing euthanasia in GA
shelters. Owner surrendered dogs are accepted into our program only
when it is determined that doing so is in the best interest of the dog.
- Dogs currently housed with their owners are safe and are often more
successfully placed through our referral process. Your dog is posted on
our site, and potential adopters contact you directly regarding
adoption. Keep in mind that you know the dog best and placing your dog
in foster care means a dog may not survive in a GA shelter.
- Please email a photo and short biography of your dog to Rachael Eley at Catmndu@gmail.com.
- The GA Department of Agriculture prohibits rescue groups from
listing any dogs over the age of 6 months old that are not
spayed/neutered. Email Rachael for low cost spay/neuter options in your
area.
Stray Dogs
NS4AR appreciates the efforts of private citizens who assist stray
Aussies found in the state of GA. However, it is illegal to confiscate
an animal and rehome it without consent of the owner. If you’ve found
an Aussie, please contact your local animal control facility to educate
yourself on the animal control laws in your area. If the dog must be
taken to the shelter, you can contact NS4AR with the shelter information
and we will make every attempt possible to evaluate the dog for foster
care when the stray hold for the dog has expired.
